A$AP SHARES THAT ‘BEING A FATHER IS MY CREATIVE PROCESS’

Many artists find inspiration in things that they see in their daily lives. From nature to bustling city streets, everyday moments often spark creativity and influence their work. For A$AP Rocky, his sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 21 months, are his sources of creativity, and the father-of-two says that it is, “beautiful”.

In an interview with podcast hosts Chioma Nnadi and Chloe Malle for the latest episode of The Run-Through with Vogue, the 36-year-old sat down to discuss a myriad of topics ranging from the upcoming 2025 Met Gala to new projects. During the podcast episode, the father-of-two also expanded on how being a proud dad has influenced his creative process.
“Being a father is my creative process now because I just embodied it as a whole,” he said. “I never really had a role model or just an iconic figure, … and I guess I’m that for people, and I didn’t purposely try to do that, but I take it as a badge of honor. I’m so flattered and, you know, just being me that it can inspire people to actually do something that is considered good being a present active father.”
A$AP Rocky continued, “I love that s—. For me, my dad was a proud dad. He taught me everything I know, especially how to be a gentleman and whatnot, so I was prepared to be a dad my whole life, man, you know? I’m ready, and I’m 36 going on 37, man. These clothes suit me well.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the “HighJack” rapper admitted that one of his favorite parts of being a parent is, “watching his sons grow up.”
“Man, it’s amazing. Obviously, they [are] still growing into their personalities and stuff and developing, but it’s amazing,” he said. “To see them actually, like interact with each other and interact with me and with their mom. And it’s it’s amazing. It’s beautiful.”
Rocky added, “It’s something that you dream about, and when it happens, it’s just like you [are] living your dream and that all jokes aside. And I hate to make it sound extra, … but that’s just how it is for me.”

The Harlem-native shares his two sons with fellow musician and beauty mogul, Rihanna. Other than a few snippets into their private lives, the couple has, for the most part, kept details surrounding their children private as both parents want to give their children as normal a childhood as possible. As the entertainer told Billboard Magazine last year, “They still human. They human beings.”
