Darius McCrary Arrested Over Michigan Child Support Warrant

Darius McCrary is facing serious legal trouble after being arrested in San Diego and booked without bail. The actor, best known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the ’90s hit show “Family Matters,” was taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol on the evening of Sunday, October 5th. According to official records, the arrest was tied to a felony warrant issued out of Michigan, related to a missed court appearance involving an ongoing child support case.

McCrary, 49, is currently listed as a fugitive in court documents, and San Diego jail records confirm he remains behind bars. The actor has an open criminal case on file, and his first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15th.

This arrest stems from a child support case involving McCrary’s daughter Zoey, whom he shares with ex-wife Tammy Brawner, a former Harlem Globetrotter. Their divorce, finalized in 2019, included strict court orders requiring McCrary to pay $1,366 monthly in support, attend counseling, and complete monitored visitations. At the time, Brawner was granted full legal and physical custody of their daughter.

Legal tension between the former couple dates back years. In 2018, Brawner accused McCrary of dislocating their daughter’s arm during a bathroom visit. The child was later diagnosed with Nursemaid’s elbow, an injury common among toddlers. McCrary denied any wrongdoing.

While McCrary’s team has claimed the arrest is due to a missed hearing and not new criminal activity, he remains in custody and unavailable for comment. With no bail granted and a court date fast approaching, the once-beloved TV star’s future remains uncertain.
