The new system, which retails for $799, officially hit stores on September 30 and combines a full-color in-lens display with a gesture-controlled wristband. The collaboration marks another milestone in Meta and Ray-Ban’s partnership and represents their boldest effort yet to bring artificial intelligence and style together in a single product.
Unlike earlier smart eyewear, this model can’t be bought online. Customers have to experience it first. Best Buy is offering exclusive in-store demos, allowing shoppers to see the advanced visuals firsthand before ordering.
According to Meta, “The glasses project text, images, and AI responses directly onto the right lens using micro-projector and waveguide technology.” When paired with the Neural Band—“a lightweight wrist accessory with electromyography sensors”—users can “navigate menus, scroll through notifications, or select commands using subtle finger movements rather than touch controls or voice prompts.”
The device also offers real-time translation, live captioning, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and open-ear audio for calls and music. Battery life reaches six hours of active use, with a charging case extending total use to roughly 30 hours.
By partnering with Best Buy for this rollout, Meta is betting on hands-on experiences to help users connect with the product’s futuristic feel. As the company leans into AI-driven hardware, the Display & Neural Band could be the spark that finally makes smart eyewear mainstream.
