Body of Teen Found in Singer D4vd’s Tesla Sat for Weeks, LAPD Says

The LAPD has revealed that the body of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, found inside a Tesla registered to rising music artist D4vd, may have been there for several weeks before being discovered.

LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams told PEOPLE, “We know for sure that Celeste Rivas died and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke’s Tesla.” Burke, known professionally as D4vd, is a 20-year-old singer who was on tour when the car was found.

Authorities said the Tesla had been parked in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood for weeks before a foul odor led residents to call police. The car was towed on September 8th, one day after Celeste’s 15th birthday.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined how she died. Williams said, “We don’t know if anyone is criminally responsible for her death beyond concealing the body.”

Police executed a search warrant at a nearby home linked to D4vd and his manager. Though electronics were reportedly seized, the LAPD has not confirmed what was taken.

Rumors of a connection between Celeste and the singer surfaced after a matching tattoo was noted by the coroner, but Williams stated, “It would be premature to say anything about their relationship.”

D4vd has not been charged or named a suspect, and his team has yet to respond to new inquiries. Celeste had reportedly gone missing several times this year.
