Reality TV is no stranger to heated moments, but every now and then, something crosses a line — and this season on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Brit Eady did just that. Host Andy Cohen didn’t hesitate to get straight to the point, asking, “I never had a gun in my possession at all.” That’s how Brit responded when Andy asked if she’d ever brought a weapon to set.

The seriousness of the situation wasn’t lost on anyone. Andy explained, “Obviously weapons are not allowed on set. It was looked into and determined you didn’t violate that policy.”

Wanting to get to the heart of the issue, Andy pressed further: “Why did you say it, and what do you think about it now?”

Brit Eady answered with total honesty. “I still beat myself up… just the fact that I allowed her to trigger me,” she admitted. “There’s no excuse for what I did. What I said. It was in the heat of the moment.”

She went on to reveal what was going on behind the scenes that contributed to her mindset that day. “I felt attacked and I was triggered by Kenya,” Brit said, explaining that being away from her usual support system made her feel especially vulnerable.

To clear up how the comment actually happened, Brit added, “I mentioned a pistol and I never should’ve. I was wrong.” She clarified that it wasn’t said during a group scene, but rather a side conversation with castmate Kelly.

As for Kenya Moore, it’s now confirmed that she won’t be returning for the rest of the season.
