On November 4, the rap icon welcomed a baby boy with Stefon Diggs, her boyfriend and wide receiver for the New England Patriots. To mark the moment, she turned her newborn’s umbilical cord into a golden heart with help from Mommy Made.

The process involves shaping the umbilical cord into a heart, dehydrating it, and coating it in a layer of gold chrome. While the gold piece costs $50, it’s only available alongside the company’s $500 placenta encapsulation package, which turns the placenta into consumable capsules meant to support postpartum recovery. Cardi also selected the $65 Placenta Print, styled to resemble the Tree of Life.

Mommy Made shared the creation on Instagram, including footage of the cord being molded with wire and preserved.

The brand also showcased Cardi’s placenta, dyed blue before being processed. She previously used the company for her daughter, Blossom Belle Cephus, in 2024.
