DeVon Franklin Marries Maria Castillo in Romantic Beverly Hills Ceremony
DeVon Franklin and Maria Castillo began their life together as husband and wife on August 2nd with a lakeside wedding at Casa Lago Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.
The couple described the ceremony as “deeply spiritual,” planning each detail to reflect the start of their love story.
The day began with guests entering through a candlelit walkway lined with personal photos. A harpist welcomed attendees, setting the tone for an intimate gathering.
Friends and family filled the venue, including Kelly Rowland, Tim Witherspoon, LeToya Luckett, Taleo Coles, Israel Houghton, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Tyler Lepley, and Robin Thede.
Music played a central role throughout the ceremony. Violinist Jeremy Green performed Hillsong UNITED’s “Oceans” as the wedding party walked the white aisle decorated with white florals from Butterfly Floral & Event Design. For Castillo’s entrance, Green played “Goodness of God.”
She wore a custom Galia Lahav gown featuring long lace sleeves, a dramatic train, and a veil. Designed in Israel, the dress blended elegance with Spanish flair, honoring her heritage.
“I was envisioning a traditional lace wedding dress with intricate details, a touch of drama, and a Spanish flair,” she shared. Her look was completed by makeup artist Haley Marie Makeup and hairstylist Clarese Creates.
Franklin wore a tailored Giorgio Armani suit with Christian Louboutin dress shoes.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception that celebrated the couple’s cultures. Dinner featured a “culinary fusion” of African American and Dominican dishes, followed by an assortment of Southern desserts and slices of a five-tiered cake in multiple flavors.
Entertainment included a surprise live performance by MAJOR. before the evening transitioned into a lively hora loca, a Dominican wedding tradition. Stilt walkers, shifting lights, and dancers filled the room as guests joined the celebration.
Franklin proposed to Castillo during a holiday trip to Hawaii on December 27th, 2024, after a year of dating. The couple made their red carpet debut at The Pink Awards in Georgia on October 12th, 2024.
