Diddy New Bail Filing for Mann Act Conviction Bail Motion Details & Legal Argument

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s legal team filed a new motion for bail, insisting it’s absurd he’s the only man behind bars in the country for hiring grown male escorts to join in with his girlfriend. They’ve made their case to Judge Arun Subramanian arguing he should be released before his October 3 sentencing.

In new court docs obtained by TMZ Diddy argues that almost everyone convicted under the Mann Act of which he was found guilty on two counts is typically released before sentencing. His lawyers point out he didn’t hire minors or traffic anyone just professional escorts who participated voluntarily in consensual threesomes with his partner and another woman they referred to as “Jane.” It was presented as a swinger lifestyle not trafficking.

Diddy was convicted on prostitution charges but cleared of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking allegations. Still bail was denied immediately after the verdict. Judge Subramanian said he’s a danger to the community pointing to violent accusations made at trial.

Diddy’s team counters that the only violent incident post 2018 was in June 2024 with “Jane” and it came after she allegedly provoked him. Prior footage of violence including an incident involving Cassie in March 2016 they say doesn’t reflect his recent behavior.

Their proposed bail package is hefty a $50 million bond backed by his Florida estate and guaranteed by three financially responsible cosigners.
