Diddy Requests New Jersey Prison for 50-Month Sentence
Diddy is trying to control his future even from behind bars. The music mogul has formally asked the judge to recommend FCI Fort Dix, a low-security New Jersey prison where he hopes to serve the remainder of his 50-month sentence.
Attorney Teny Geragos submitted a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian asking that Diddy be placed in the facility. His team argued the prison is ideal to help him “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
This request comes after his legal team warned the court that “someone already planned to shank him in jail.” Diddy’s longtime attorney Mark Geragos shared on the “2 Angry Men” podcast that he’ll “have a target on his back” no matter where he goes.
Other celebrities have done time at that New Jersey prison, including Teresa and Joe Giudice. Judge Subramanian can suggest the facility, but the final decision lies with the Bureau of Prisons.
Diddy has already spent over a year at MDC Brooklyn. With more than two years to go, a move to New Jersey could shift the experience if the feds approve it.
