DJ Enuff Claims Funk Flex Influenced His Exit From Hot 97
DJ Enuff is speaking out, and he’s not sugarcoating anything. The veteran DJ officially exited Hot 97 after 27 years and left listeners with more than just a farewell mix.
“I’m off the air. It’s time for a new chapter,” Enuff told Friday. But when asked about Funk Flex’s role in the recent lineup change, Enuff didn’t dodge the question.
“I don’t think Flex is going anywhere,” he said. “Flex is staying. He’s just going to a new shift. I don’t deserve that from him.”
That quiet accusation didn’t go unnoticed. Funk Flex quickly fired back on Instagram with a pointed message. Posting a screenshot of Enuff’s TMZ interview, he warned, “MONDAY! 7 PM! I GOT A STORY TO TELL!” He followed up with, “I just told y’all don’t play with me. Join me Monday.” The message was clear: he’s ready to speak his truth and isn’t holding back.
Flex, who has ruled the evening slot for years, announced that his final 7 PM show will air on Labor Day before he moves to an earlier 5 PM shift. Despite some fans thinking this meant retirement, Flex is simply changing time slots, not stepping away.
As Hot 97 undergoes a major programming shakeup, the tension between two of its most iconic voices has taken center stage. DJ Enuff hasn’t responded to Flex’s warning yet, but all eyes, and ears, are now locked on Labor Day Monday.
