Fans catch a glimpse of Hollywood’s most secretive couple
Just a few minutes into Nikki Glaser’s opening monologue, fans got a rare glimpse of one of the entertainment industry’s most secretive couples: Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
The pair were sat side-by-side as the camera panned to Chalamet, who copped a few cheeky jabs from Glaser that had girlfriend Jenner grinning.
“You have the most gorgeous eyelashes … on your upper lip, such a good look,” Glaser quipped.
“You were so good as Bob Dylan, wasn’t he incredible?
“In fact, I read your singing voice was so accurate that even Bob Dylan himself admitted it was absolutely horrible. You nailed it!”
Glaser made several jokes about the celebrities in the room and a few quips about the state of Hollywood, Ozempic, and even US politics.
“I am not here to roast you tonight, and how could I? You are all so famous and talented and so powerful. You could do anything except tell the country who you vote for,” she said at the start of her monologue.
Emma Stone debuts massive hair transformation
La La Land actress Emma Stone floored fans when she emerged on the Golden Globes red carpet looking completely different to the last time they saw her.
The star, who has long been known for her long red or blonde tresses, debuted a striking new pixie cut as she arrived on January 5 (local time).
The 36-year-old wore a red column gown for the occasion, which featured an understated bow around her waist and a demure strapless neckline.
Stone let her hair do all the talking, option to keep her jewellery and makeup minimal for the big night.
Five-hour detail in Cynthia Erivo’s ensemble
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo showed off another set of show-stopping nails at the Golden Globes, this time rocking claws in shades of green, pink, purple and more.
She revealed the set took a staggering five hours to complete, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given they featured such intricate designs, gemstones and charms.
She and co-star Ariana Grande have been styling their red carpet outfits around their Wicked characters of late and Erivo’s pink and green nails seemed to be a tribute to their characters, Elphaba and Glinda.
It’s a family affair this year
A number of high-profile stars opted to bring their parents as their dates to the Golden Globes, walking the red carpet with mums and dads in tow.
Glen Powell arrived with his parents Cyndy Powell and Glen Powell Snr., who looked delighted to be there with their movie star son.
Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning weren’t each other’s dates but they were happy to pose together with someone very special as they arrived at the glamorous event.
“Our grandmother is here tonight as Dakota’s date,” Elle revealed in a red carpet interview with E! News.
“We got ready together all in the same room.”
Ariana Grande brought her mother Joan Grande as her date and Angelina Jolie arrived with daughter Zahara by her side.
Angelina is nominated for the Golden Globe for best female actor in a motion picture drama for Maria and Zahara looked so proud to be supporting her mum at the ceremony.
Robbie Williams’ outfit steals the spotlight
Robbie Williams stole the show in a sparkling grey suit covered in rhinestones as he attended his very first Golden Globes ceremony.
He’s been nominated for the gong for Best Original Song for Forbidden Road, from his new biopic Better Man, where the character of Williams is played by a CGI monkey.

The singer attended with wife Ayda Field, an American actress, who complemented his suit perfectly in a shimmering metallic gown of her own. They’ve been married since 2010.
Williams told AP he made the decision not to be “nervous” at the Globes in the car on the way to the ceremony, insisting his focus was just on “having fun”.
The rocker wasn’t the only man whose outfit stood out on the night, with stars like Andrew Scott and Jeremy Strong also arriving in striking ensembles.
Surprise red carpet arrivals make fans do a double take
Everyone was forced to do a double-take when two unlikely A-list actors seemed to arrive on the red carpet together.
Though it looked like Glen Powell and Timothee Chalamet, of Twisters and Dune fame, at first, a closer inspection revealed these two men were actually just lookalikes.
Well, that and the signs they were carrying.
Max Braunstein and Miles Mitchell, who won viral Powell and Chalamet lookalike contests, arrived carrying matching signs that read “I won a lookalike contest and now I’m at the Golden Globes.”
The duo looked thrilled to be at the event, beaming at photographers as they walked the carpet with Hollywood icons.
It appears they were invited to attend by CBS, as they tagged the media outlet in several social media posts about the big night including the video below.
The stars are getting ready
While some guests have already started walking the red carpet (you can see what they’re wearing here), other A-list attendees are only just getting ready.
Kate Hudson, best known for her romcoms like How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, shared a selfie on Instagram as her glam team worked on her hair and makeup ahead of the ceremony.
“Excited for tonight! See you soon @goldenglobes,” she captioned the snap.
The actress revealed she’d be rocking a chic updo and soft, glowy makeup look for the big night but covered any hints at her outfit with a fluffy white robe.
Fran Drescher also posted to Instagram as she prepared to walk the red carpet, sharing a post and story as she hopped in the car to make her way to the ceremony.
Showing off the top of her black Dolce & Gabbana gown, which she paired with an updo and striking red lip, she wrote to her 1.5 million followers: “Off we goooo!!!”
In another post she penned, “Off to the Golden Globes! All Dolce & Gabbana all the time! Ty A-Team. You did it again!”
Guess who’s coming…
We’ve received a first glance at inside the ceremony, thanks to the Golden Globes which has just given us a sneak peek into the seating plan.
And with one simple video they have revealed one of the most notoriously private couples will be making their grand arrival together.
Meet this year’s host
It’s set to be a star-studded occasion, with comedian and TV host Nikki Glaser as its host. And we can expect a very different monologue.
Glaser, who is the first solo female to host the ceremony, told Yahoo she is “not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended”.
“I’ve made a point not to, and that’s not to disappoint anyone who’s hoping I’m going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I’m not Ricky Gervais,” she said.
“This isn’t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one. He really went hard on his last one. He was ready to burn some bridges [because] it didn’t matter anymore.”
On the red carpet she told E! News that she practiced her monologue almost 100 times (93, to be exact) in the leadup to the big night, when she will deliver it to a room full of stars.
“It’s blowing my mind that Angelina Jolie has to listen to me talk for nine minutes,” she said.
Preparing for the big night
One night before the ceremony, nominee Nicole Kidman attended a lavish event with one of her biggest supporters: lookalike daughter Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban.
The mother-daughter duo posed together and rubbed shoulders with A-listers at the W Magazine Annual Best Performances Party, hosted at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, where Kidman was honoured with a huge black-and-white portrait on one wall.
Sunday Rose wowed in an embroidered crop and shorts set in baby blue, topped off with a black blazer. Her mum wore a menswear inspired look in muted tones.
Kidman, 57, is nominated for the Golden Globe for best female actor in a motion picture drama for Babygirl.
Stay on for all the moments as they happen.
