Jessica Mauboy welcomes first child daughter Mia with husband Themeli Magripilis
Jessica Mauboy has welcomed her first child, opening up about her first few months of motherhood.
The Aussie singer and her husband Themeli Magripilis welcomed their first child on January 13, a baby girl named Mia.
The 35-year-old told Stellar, ”It has been a bit of a rollercoaster but a magical one.”

She says the arrival of the bub had her doubting herself, wondering how to go about looking after her and whether she was going to be a good mum.
“I wanted to hold space for myself, to be patient and give as much love and kindness to myself as [I could while] my body was changing,” the Burn singer shared.
“Like making a record, you have got to put yourself out there eventually, but it was about having these precious moments with her seen by myself [rather than everyone else].”

The Sapphires star refrained from sharing any pictures of the new arrival on social media to prevent any negative comments and disappointing friends and family who have yet to see the baby.
The new mother is also preparing another project inspired by Mia in the form of new music, with Mauboy sharing that she often makes up new lullabies for her newborn.
“It’s been so wild. I’ve been at the piano and she pops up into my head and I just tell myself to surrender to it and let’s go into whatever that feeling is,” said Mauboy, “It’s such a beautiful release.”

Mauboy and Magripilis married in July 2022, after being together for around 16 years. The two first shared a long-distance relationship before Magripilis moved from their native Darwin to be with Mauboy in Sydney.
