KIM KARDASHIAN AND KANYE PRAISE NORTH WEST’S LION KING PERFORMANCE: ‘SHE’S THE MOMENT’
Kim Kardashian knew the internet would have something to say about her daughter North West’s role as Simba in The Lion King concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and she was ready for it.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim shared her thoughts ahead of North’s big moment, anticipating the criticism that would follow. “I already know what’s coming,” she admitted. “That she’s not Whitney Houston. Duh!”
The 11-year-old, whom Kim shares with ex-husband Kanye West, took center stage for the iconic I Just Can’t Wait to Be King, sparking a wave of mixed reactions.
Some praised North’s confidence and charm, while others questioned whether she landed the role due to her famous parents. Kim, however, had a firm response for the naysayers.
“North is the moment,” Kim stated. “They want to see North West on a TikTok, on a this, on a anything. Because she’s a personality, a performer. And if anyone wants to hate on a child that having is having the time of their lives, ‘F–k you.’”
“It’s such a proud moment as a mom to see your child having so much fun and not feeling nervous at all,” she continued “She’s so proud of herself. She did such a great job. And anyone that is hating on a kid is just a hater—she’s not there to be Mariah Carey.”
The event also saw a rare co-parenting moment between Kim and Kanye, as the rapper attended to support their daughter. The pair, who divorced in 2022, also share kids Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with Kanye.
“Kanye and I want the best for the kids,” she said. “So any time we’re here supporting our child, it’s always good vibes.”
Following North’s performance, even Kanye couldn’t hide his pride, telling Kim, “Man, she did so good. What did you think?”
Kim, overwhelmed with emotion, simply replied, “I was just crying from the side.”
Whether fans loved or critiqued North’s performance, one thing is undeniable—she’s already shining in the spotlight, and her biggest cheerleader is right by her side.
