“I’m working on ‘X-Files.’ That’s what’s immediately next,” he said on “Last Podcast on the Left.”
“So, I’ve been excited about that for a long time, and I’m fired up to get back to it, and that, you know, some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f**king scary.”
News of Coogler’s “X-Files” reboot first broke in 2023, when original creator Chris Carter told the “On The Coast” podcast, “I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to rework ‘The X-Files’ with a diverse cast. So he’s got his work cut out for him, because we covered so much territory.”
For now, Coogler is riding high on the success of “Sinners,” which boasts a 99% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As for his other highly anticipated project, “Black Panther 3,” Coogler promises an appearance from Hollywood icon Denzel Washington.
“Ryan Coogler’s writing a part for me in the next ‘Black Panther,’” Washington confirmed on Australia’s Today Show.
