Tamra Judge Insists She and Eddie Don’t Party or Drink

On a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, viewers got a rare glimpse behind the polished surface of Tamra Judge and her husband Eddie Judge’s marriage. What began as a dinner date soon turned into a tense conversation about communication, drinking, and the challenges of maintaining connection after more than a decade together.
During the October 16 episode, what started as a dinner date between the longtime couple shifted into an uncomfortable conversation about communication, frustration, and Tamra’s drinking. Eddie didn’t mince words, telling his wife, “The way you talk to me is what sets me off. Usually, you’re drunk and that makes you come at me.”
The exchange caught many fans off guard, especially when Tamra questioned whether Eddie believed she had a “drinking problem.” Eddie’s response was blunt but measured: “For our relationship purposes, you should never drink. You should be able to come to me and talk to me about what’s hurting you…”
The conversation resurfaced later during the RHOC After Show, where Tamra claimed she didn’t even remember filming that scene — though she downplayed the idea that drinking plays any major role in their lives.
“I don’t even remember the last time we partied and drank,” she said in the segment. “No, Eddie and I are not big partiers or drinkers… We have alcohol in the house, but it’s probably been there for, like, I don’t know how many years.”
After castmate Gina Kirschenheiter mentioned that “people are very surprised” when she tells them “Tamra doesn’t even drink,” Tamra elaborated that she and Eddie don’t even “order wine or anything like that” at dinner — unless they’re out at a special restaurant with friends. Even then, she added, Eddie will typically only have “one glass of red wine,” citing his “heart issues.”
“That’s it. Not partiers. We’re in bed by 8,” Tamra continued. “Why go drink and be an a—–e, when you’re not even normally like that? … Now, I’m at a point where I, like, don’t even desire it.”
Despite the calm explanation, the earlier dinner scene painted a more complicated picture of the couple’s relationship. Tamra admitted that she tends to “pull away when things are hurting” her — a habit that Eddie says leads to bigger blowups down the line. “Do you think we have a problem?” he asked, prompting Tamra to concede that their communication often breaks down until “it all explodes at once.”
While Tamra insists alcohol isn’t a major factor, Eddie’s comments — and her inability to recall the moment — have sparked renewed discussion among viewers about how self-awareness and avoidance collide in relationships under pressure.
Whether the conversation was a rare moment of honesty or just another reality TV flashpoint, it’s clear that beneath the humor and quick comebacks, Tamra and Eddie’s marriage continues to face challenges that can’t be easily edited out.
