Timbaland’s AI Artist TaTa Taktumi Drops First Music Video

Timbaland has officially introduced the world to TaTa Taktumi, his first AI-powered artist under his new label, Stage Zero. The debut single, “Glitch x Pulse,” is now live, and reactions online suggest that while the visuals are impressive, the soul might be missing.

Stage Zero was launched to merge human artistry with artificial intelligence and create what Timbaland calls “A-pop,” short for AI pop. This project comes after the producer expressed frustration with today’s music, describing many artists as “uninspiring” and their work as “soulless.”

“You could feel the pressure of the dividedness, and I hate that,” Timbaland said earlier this year. “The music sounds bland, it sounds boring—it lacks excitement. While we frequently discuss AI, I believe it’s the only entity that embodies a genuine soul right now.”

Whether TaTa Taktumi is the future of music or just a flashy experiment, one thing is clear: the conversation around AI in the industry is only getting louder.
