Trump Responds to Charlie Kirk Assassination, Calls Him “The Best of America”
Donald Trump released a video late Wednesday night responding to the assassination of MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on a Utah college campus.

In his address, Trump described Kirk as a patriot, a man of faith, and a leading voice for young conservatives. He said Kirk’s influence extended far beyond politics, calling him “a martyr for truth and freedom” and “one of the most respected leaders among America’s youth.”
Trump also took aim at what he called the “radical left,” blaming years of hostile rhetoric for creating an environment that leads to political violence. He drew parallels between Kirk’s death and other high-profile attacks, including the 2017 shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and the attempt on his own life last year in Pennsylvania.
The former Turning Point USA leader leaves behind his wife, Erica, and their two young children. Trump called on Americans to honor Kirk’s legacy by embracing free speech, the rule of law, and what he described as “the patriotic devotion and love of God.”
“This is a dark moment for America,” Trump said. “But the assassin failed, because Charlie’s message and his voice will live on for generations.”
