Young Thug Faces Jail as Prosecutors File to Revoke His Probation Over Alleged Witness Threats

Young Thug is at risk of being sent back to jail after prosecutors filed documents to revoke his probation.

According to court documents, prosecutors argue that Thug’s actions since sentencing have posed a serious threat to witnesses and legal officials. The motion states: “The Defendant has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the law, the safety of witnesses, and the integrity of judicial proceedings.”

Further emphasizing the severity of the allegations, the motion continues: “The integrity of this court, and the safety of those involved in this prosecution are at stake.”

Williams’ attorney, Brian Steel, strongly refuted the claims.

“It is never appropriate to threaten to murder another person. The prosecution’s motion to revoke Jeffery’s probation should not be well-received and should be swiftly rejected. It is irresponsible to file a motion of this sort when Jeffery has done absolutely nothing,” Steel told WSB-TV.

This filing is seemingly in response to Thug posting a photo of Marissa Viverito, an investigative analyst for the Atlanta Police Department, with the caption, “Biggest liar in the DA office.” However, he has denied any wrongdoing.

The YSL case initially began as a sweeping indictment that accused 28 individuals, including Young Thug, of conspiring to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Thug ultimately pleaded guilty in December as part of a non-negotiated plea.

Nine other defendants, including rapper Gunna, accepted plea deals before the trial began. The case went on to become the longest criminal trial in Georgia history, with jury selection alone taking 10 months before testimony finally commenced in November 2023.
