CANDIACE DILLARD BASSETT REVEALS WHY SHE’S NOT SHARING PICS OF SON’S FACE
Candiace Dillard Bassett is opening up about her decision to keep her son’s face private for now. Recently, The Real Housewives of the Potomac alum revealed the personal reasons behind her choice to protect her child’s privacy and maintain boundaries.
“As long as we can protect him and his identity and his face, we’re gonna do that. My mom is always like, ‘When are you going to show the baby? He’s so cute, everybody needs to see the baby!’ ” Dillard Bassett said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“We will show him, obviously, eventually,” she explained to the outlet. “But just for now, we’re just enjoying having him to ourselves. It’s been really beautiful just to keep him to ourselves.”
Dillard Bassett and her husband, Chris Bassett, welcomed their son, Jett Maxwell Lee, to the world back in November of 2024. Back then, the 38-year-old mother shared debut photos of the couple’s new bundle of joy in an exclusive interview with People Magazine.
“He is just the cutest little thing,” the new mom told the outlet. “Chris and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so cliché to say, but he’s brought such joy to our lives in ways I never would have been able to describe before. It’s pure love!”
She continued, “I just look at him and envision all the adventures we’re going to have. Throughout my pregnancy, when I would talk to him in my stomach, I would say, ‘I can’t wait to see who you’re going to be.’ And that’s been the joy in my heart that’s continued after his birth. It’s exciting to think about. I’m so ready for a lifetime of being on the sidelines, cheering him on.”
Jett is the first child for both Dillard Bassett. On his father’s side, Jett joins older siblings, Owen, 22, Mateo, 14, and Naia, 10 from two of Chris’ previous relationships.
Dillard Bassett and Chris met while working at a restaurant together in Washington D.C. The tied the knot in August of 2018 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in D.C. in an extravagant wedding that was filmed for The Real Housewives of the Potomac.
