Offset Explains “Move On” as His Goodbye to Cardi B
Offset is finally putting his relationship with Cardi B behind him, and he’s using his music to mark the moment. During a recent sit-down with the Associated Press, the rapper opened up about the meaning behind his new track “Move On.”

“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” Offset explained. “That’s what the message is supposed to be. It’s all love and peace.”
He revealed that he intentionally closed his latest album with the track to symbolize the end of an era. “I just ended the album with that [song], just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with,” he said. “It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
Offset’s comments come as he continues to reflect on what went wrong. Speaking with Ebro Darden on Apple Music, he admitted, “I f**ked up. Just being real.” He added, “I gotta acknowledge that and get back on the journey.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B has been just as candid about the toll their marriage took on her. On Twitter Spaces earlier this year, she revealed how drained she felt during the relationship.
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was…I was mentally drained,” she shared. “Couldn’t eat…I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. I gave [him] chances after chances.”
She admitted the situation nearly pushed her over the edge.
“If I was still there, I was gonna end up going to jail. Cause I was gonna end up killing him, seriously, with my own bare hands.”
