Katie Rost, the former Real Housewives of Potomac star, is on a journey that has not only transformed her life but also inspired many. On March 17, the 44-year-old took to Instagram to announce a huge milestone: she’s been sober for four months. With a radiant selfie and a powerful message, Katie shared the news with her followers, saying:

“Grabbing my N.A. tag and my AA chip this week to celebrate 4 months CLEAN and SOBER.”
This was a moment of pride and joy for the reality star, who’s been open about her struggles with addiction in the past. Her post was filled with energy, determination, and gratitude:
“#Recovery by any and all means necessary. Let’s gooooooo! #katievibes”
Katie’s journey hasn’t been easy. She’s been incredibly transparent about the challenges she’s faced, from addiction to finding the strength to ask for help. Back in December, she shared a heartfelt post after completing 28 days of rehab at Mountain Manor Treatment Center in Baltimore:
“I’m soooooo proud of myself. I didn’t walk into this on a winning streak, but today I have such a sense of victory! Let’s gooooooooo?? thanks for the messages I’m reading through them now and crying tears of joy, give me a bit to respond. Xoxo #katievibes #sober #recovery.”

That’s the raw honesty Katie has shown through every step of her recovery—embracing the highs and the lows. And in that same post, she shared her plan for the next chapter:
“For the next part of [her] recovery journey, I’ll go to a sober living house in Frederick, Md., so that I have lots of support. This is certainly a marathon, not a sprint!!”

Fast forward to the 90-day mark of her journey, and Katie was feeling more confident than ever. She was working as a hostess at The Wye Oak Tavern, a restaurant owned by Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio, and taking pride in her sobriety:
“I loved getting my chip. This has been the hardest journey of my entire life. I have faced demons and fears and insecurities without my old friend and companion alcohol to dull away the pain. Nothing easy about it.”
But as difficult as it has been, Katie remains focused on her recovery, finding strength in the support around her. She shared a touching moment where a Real Housewives fan came into the restaurant and asked for a selfie. The fan also took the time to tell Katie how proud they were of her.
“And it feels so good. Thanks for all of the faith, the journey, and the unconditional love #katievibes #sober.”
Katie’s journey is a reminder that recovery is a deeply personal process. It’s a commitment to facing the hardest parts of yourself and overcoming them, with the help of others and a whole lot of determination. She’s been transparent about the ups and downs, and it’s clear that this journey, while challenging, has been one of the most rewarding of her life.
As Katie said: “Let’s gooooooo!” The road ahead is long, but if her story is any indication, she’s ready to keep pushing forward.
