Teddi Mellencamp has been facing some huge life challenges recently, but she’s also embracing new beginnings. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who has been through a public divorce and is currently battling brain cancer, just revealed some surprising news about her love life.

On a recent episode of Diamonds in the Rough with Erika Jayne, Teddi Mellencamp spilled the beans about a budding romance she’s been exploring. In case you missed it, Teddi made headlines last November when she announced her split from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave. But that was only the start of her rollercoaster journey. In February, she shared the shocking news that doctors had found multiple brain tumors, which led to an emergency surgery.
While her health and family are her top priorities, it seems love is also making its way into Teddi Mellencamp’s life. She shared that she recently went on a second date with someone she met around the time of her surgery.
“I went on a second date,” Teddi teased with a smile. “So I went on a first date, pre-the thing, and then I went on a second date yesterday, actually. He’s really cute and nice.” It sounds like she’s definitely enjoying herself!
Erika Jayne asked if Teddi’s doctors had cleared her to start dating again. “I know they said you could ride horses, but what about dating?” Erika asked.

Teddi quickly replied with enthusiasm, “Yes!” before sharing some fun photos of her new guy with Erika. “I mean, he’s making a stupid face in this photo. But he’s cute,” she laughed. And Erika agreed, “He is cute.”
Of course, Erika being the protective friend she is, asked, “What are his intentions? Do I need to get on the phone with this fool?”
Teddi laughed and revealed that the guy—whose identity she’s keeping private—didn’t even know about her Real Housewives past before they met. “He doesn’t know s***,” she chuckled, adding that it’s been a bit of a “weird” experience for her. “But he’s so nice, I get panicked. But I’ve been on two dates, and they went really well.”
So, what does Teddi like about this new guy? Well, he’s 35, works in events, and Teddi describes him as “an amazing caregiver.” She shared that he was there for her during her hospital stay following her brain surgery. “He’s been there for me, so we’ll see where this goes,” she said, leaving the door open for whatever might come next.
