Wendy Williams’ Niece Accused of Taking Her to Dinner Without Permission as Judge Threatens Tighter Restrictions
Wendy Williams has had an eventful week, highlighting the troublesome nature of her guardianship.
The former talk show host grew emotional as she reflected on a judge’s recent threat regarding her living situation. Williams feared an even more restrictive facility placement, having previously called her current home a “luxury prison.”
During her chat with “TMZ Live,” Williams addressed the judge’s frustration over her public criticism of the guardianship. She revealed that Judge Lisa Sokoloff had warned her against speaking to the media. While her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, insists Williams enjoys freedom and family access, the 60-year-old strongly disagrees, branding those claims outright lies.
She described her life inside the facility’s fifth-floor memory unit as distressing, making the idea of tighter restrictions even more terrifying. Williams also shared her frustration with Sokoloff, believing the judge views her self-advocacy with disdain.
As if things couldn’t get any worse, the memory care facility where she resides reportedly called the police on her niece, Alex Finnie, Wednesday evening, accusing her of taking the media personality out to dinner without permission. This seemingly contradicts previous claims by her guardian that the mom of one could leave with family whenever she pleased.
Williams told TMZ that the police report was “unbelievable” upon her return to the facility with Finnie. This latest drama unfolds after Williams scored perfectly on a new cognitive test.
